Ideal for generator transfer switch installations where the main electrical panel is located indoors, and you wish to avoid running the generator cord through a window or door. This raintight Power Inlet Box can be mounted on the exterior of the house or building, and wiring may be run through the wall over to the transfer switch installation allowing the generator cord from the generator to be plugged into the Power Inlet Box.

Our Power Inlet Box design shown here features aluminum construction (Type 5052) making it virtually corrosion proof and paintable. And since the generator cord connection is made with the power inlet on the bottom of the unit, it maintains a raintight rating while in use. Optional Flip Lid Accessory is available when covering the inlet is desired -- to keep out nesting insects, dirt, moisture, etc. GenTran power inlet boxes are also available with circuit breakers when local requirements regard the generator as a structure needing a separate disconnect.
